The Child and Adult Care Food Program and home-based child care providers: Expanding participation


This brief provides an overview of some key opportunities, challenges, and needed action steps to expand participation of HBCC providers in the Child and Adult Care Food Program. Based on expert interviews and a literature review, it first provides background on HBCC and CACFP to set the context and then summarizes findings on the key barriers these providers face to participating in CACFP. It concludes with a discussion of recommended action steps, possible impacts of improving participation, and a discussion of areas where more information is needed. (author abstract)
